Sree ranganAtha is reclining on anandAzhwAn between the two shores of kAvEri. anantan has thousands hoods and each one has a jewel in it. Even one jewel is enough to remove the darkness, what to talk of thousand jewels! ananta dispels the darkness and the BagavAn is also of highly effulgent form. Since He is komaLa kAvEri gently touches His tiruvaDi with her waves. Oh! How fortunate i should be to see Him and Alas! When shall it be!

tiruanandAzhwAn has thousand hoods and thousand mouths. With them he praises BagavAn forever and ever. The pallor shows his nature of Suddha satva. He is emitting fire because of his fear over His safety. The fire spread far and wide making a canopy of spots looking like fresh flowers like SaNbagam etc. Sree ranganAtha is lying under this canopy with all His glories and grandeur. When AzhwAr worships he feels he is carried away by the waves of His kAruNya and beauty that He has to support himself by holding the maNatooN. tirumaNatooN is the name of the two pillars near the garbagruha. It is so called because it is the incarnation of His very fragrance (maNam – fragrance).

periya perumAL of Sree rangam is lying of tiruanandAzhwAn. Brahma with his four tongues and eight eyes sees Him and sing Him; His nABi kamala, the source of all creation, shines in His tiruvuru. When do i see Him who is of such glory? And when shall i be with His dAsAs who do kainkarya to Him?
emmANbin – Brahma sings hymns to BagavAn with his tongue where sarswati lives. Hence he has no shortage of words to praise Him. But still finds the in capacity to fully glorify Him.

This ‘my kaNNa’ is of color of sea; is the leader of Ayarkula; also the leader of nityasooris (one in BoolOka and other in paramapada. He is the leader of both the viBootis); He is the one who killed kEsi, who protected the cattle against the rains by lifting gOvardhana. He is the one who likes divya prabanda of tamizh and vEdAs (including epics, purANAs etc.,) of sanskrit. He is the one who is always surrounded by nityasooris in paramapada and nitya sanyAsis in Sree rangam. Oh! When will the time come when i shall praise Him, serve Him and see Him?

tumburu and nArada (the divine riSis) always sing the praise of BagavAn by playing on their veeNAs; Brahma praises Him always with vEda mantras. Oh! ranganAtha! When shall i get an opportunity to praise You and sing You though i am quite incapable of them. When do i do namaskAra with my head wearing the royal garland?

tiruarangam has plenty of gardens where honey-laden flowers bloom in all seasons. Brahma, rudra, indra, dEvAs, apsarAs like ramba and others, riSis like sanaka and others come in groups to see Sree rangan. Since it is crowded they push each other to have the darSana of Lord. They bring flowers from the divine gardens and scatter them in all directions. Since i am a sinner will i get an opportunity to have the darSan of kaDal vaNNan, kamala kaNNan and madi muhattAn?

BagavAn is the goal for all the BAgavatAs and Sree vaiSNavAs. That is why they follow the path of dharma, control their senses, get rid of their past karmas, do karma anuSThAna five times a day, think themselves as dAsa Bootas to Him alone. When will the time come for me to go and see Him and shed tears of joy?
iru muppozhudu Etti – five times. panchakAla parAyaNar are those who do the proper karma five times a day. A day is divided into five portions – prAtah kAla, sangava kAlam, madyAna kAlam, aparAnna kAlam and sAyam kAlam. The five karmas are abigamana, ppAdAna, ijya, swAdyAya and yOga done respectively in five kAlAs.
abigamana – getting up at dawn, taking bath, sandyavandanam, japa etc., and go to the pooja room to do pradikShaNa, namaskAra and stOtra.
upAdAna – during sangava kAla collecting things like flowers, sandal paste, dhoopa, deepa etc., and also the things for abiSEka like milk, curd, ghee, honey etc.; preparing naivEdya with rice, dAl, vegetables, sugar, ghee, milk, fruits, curd etc.,
ijya – done in madyAna kAla – take bath, do mAdyamika sandyAvandana, naivEdyam and offering it to BagavAn and eat afterwards.
swAdyAya – reading scriptures, vEdAnta, purANAs, rAmAyaNa, mahABArata etc., and teaching them.
yOga – sandyAvandana at sAyamkAla, japa after sunset, prANAyAma after controlling five senses, meditations on Bagavat guNAs.

Sree vaiSNavAs always enjoy BagavAn in groups as they don’t like to enjoy Him alone. First step to Bagavat anuBava is to have satsanga (BAgavata samslESa) then singing His praise; cry in Ananda; doing stOtra accompanied by musical instruments; worship Him; jump and dance and roll on the ground forgetting oneself. These anuBavAs AzhwAr wants for himself and yearns to have that.

In the middle of kAvEri lies Sree ranganAtha on tiruanandAzhwAn. He is like the sea both in color and in nature. kulaSEKara AzhwAr wanted the Bagavat anuBava and BAgavata anuBava and sing these pASurAs. Those who read and meditate on their meaning will go to paramapada and do the kainkarya.
